YAY! And thanks to Damien__, who made this wonderful plush toy possible. The picuture has of course been taken with another of my christmas present, a DSLR. __ http://schlitt.info/applications/blog/ __ /photos/misc.html __ http://www.nexen.net/elephpant.php I dislike services like flickr, where I don't have any real control over my pictures, or the user interface to use them with, nor some version control. So I added a new extension to the `Web Content Viewer`__ (WCV__) I use to display my website (and__ some__ other__), to display those images. __ http://web-content-viewer.org __ http://web-content-viewer.org __ http://torii-portal.org __ http://phpugdo.de __ http://web-content-viewer.org The `polaroid thumbnails`__ are one of the nice stuff implemented in the really nice new `iMagick extension`__. Mikko__ has a lot of other `similar examples in his blog`__. __ /photos/misc.html __ http://pecl.php.net/package/imagick __ http://valokuva.org/ __ http://valokuva.org/?cat=1 Only for the `EXIF data`__, I am still bound to exiftools__, because the camera makers encode a lot of information in maker specific file headers, which are not extracted by iMagick__. Exiftool__ though offers a really nice interface to all these information. Exiftool even allows to read and write XML in the file headers, using the `XMP standard from Adobe`__. This way I also embed license and author information in the images, and display them `in the gallery`__. __ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exchangeable_image_file_format __ http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/ __ http://pecl.php.net/package/imagick __ http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/ __ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extensible_Metadata_Platform __ /photos/experiments.html Some__ `of my`__ images__ are also available on `Wikimedia Commons`__, which more and more becomes a really valuable ressource for free media files. __ http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bild:Stave_church_Heddal.jpg __ http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bild:Skien_church.jpg __ http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bild:European_columbine.jpg __ http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page Trackbacks ========== Comments ======== - Toby at Wed, 09 Jan 2008 00:52:13 +0100 Oh no, please don't cook the ElePHPant! .o0(... tastes much better if you bake them...;) - Robert at Wed, 09 Jan 2008 09:09:58 +0100 Töröööö! But how come, there are so much elephpants out there in the php world? It's because of that trunk, isn't it? - Adam at Wed, 09 Jan 2008 14:05:48 +0100 How cute is that elephant!
